The winter is great for skiing and snowboarding at nearby Wolf Creek Ski Resort. Snowmobiling, snowshoeing, ice climbing, and cross country skiing are also popular winter activities in the region. The Great Sand Dunes National Monument and the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Narrow Gauge Railroad are popular summer attractions. Summer recreational activities include hiking, mountain biking, fishing and hunting.
